Dr. Sheenna McKenzie, DSW
Dr. Sheenna McKenzie is the Founder and Executive Director of It's A Girls' World Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls through mentorship, education, leadership development, mental wellness, and community engagement. Founded in 2012, the organization was born from Dr. McKenzie's vision of creating a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where girls can build confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover their full potential.
With more than 11 years of professional experience as a medical social worker, Dr. McKenzie has dedicated her career to advocating for individuals and families while promoting mental health wellness and strengthening communities. In May 2026, she earned her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) from the University of Kentucky, focusing on addressing mental health disparities and advancing culturally responsive practices.
Through the foundation, Dr. McKenzie is committed to equipping girls with the life skills and confidence needed to become courageous leaders. She believes that by investing in girls today, we are building stronger families, healthier communities, and a brighter future for generations to come.
